Posted August 25th, 2014 @ 1:51pm

A Honolulu woman is being sentenced Monday afternoon on credit union embezzlement charges. The FBI handled the investigation. Thirty-five-year-old Nicole Cheung was one of three defendants who pleaded guilty to embezzeling from her former employer - The OTS Employees Federal Credit Union. That credit union is for employees of TheBus, and it's located on the grounds of TheBus offices on Middle Street. Cheung stole nearly $17,000, the least amount of the three defendants. The other two defendants - 54-year-old Donna Takushi stole more than $114,000 and 41-year-old Jenny Nishida stole the most, $350,000. Nishida and Takushi will be sentenced in September.
