Manslaughter Case Opened After Beating Suspect Dies

Police opened a manslaughter case after a Honolulu man died five days after a fight in Makiki. The Honolulu Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as 58-year-old Daniel Moon. The cause of his death is under investigation. Police said Moon was injured in a fight with a 20-year-old man at 9:35 p.m. May 30. Moon also hit a passenger in a car during the altercation and was uncooperative with investigators at the scene. Paramedics took Moon to the hospital in serious condition with head injuries. He died at the hospital Wednesday. No arrests have been made.
