Police CrimeStoppers Need Tips for Hit-&-Run

Police and Crimestoppers are asking for witnesses to a hit-and-run case, to come forward. It happened just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday fronting 1641 South Beretania Street. An 89-year-old woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a black Euro-style motorcycle traveling in the westbound lanes. The driver fell off his motorcycle, but was able to recover, then fled the scene. The woman was transported to a trauma center, where she died. The motorcyclist is described as local, 25-to-30 years old, about 5' 5", weighing 140 pounds. He was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, black pants, and a black hat.
