A 52-year-old Haiku woman is hospitalized in critical condition, after she was struck by a car Monday night. Maui police say the woman was walking northbound on Kokomo Road, when she tried to walk around a utility truck north of Nehe Place and was hit by a Lexus driven by a 65-year-old Haiku woman. The pedestrian was taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition. The driver and her male passenger were not injured. Police are investigating if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
