This incredible photo from NASA's International Space Station shows not only the sheer size but the strength of what was Hurricane Lane as it approached Hawaii. The photos posted by NASA Astronaut Ricky Arnold captured by camera as it orbited over the Pacific Ocean on August 22. The ISS does 15 to 16 orbits of the Earth every 24 hours.
As of now Hurricane Lane has downgraded to a Tropical Storm but flash flooding is expected to occur on the big island as over 30 inches of rain has already fallen with more expected to come.
