The newest Mega Millions Jackpot winner credits the "power of positive thinking" for his win.
Shane Missler, a 20-year-old from Florida, was recently announced as the big winner of last week's $450 million Mega Millions jackpot prize - the 10th largest in lotto history.
The Port Richey, Florida man elected to take the one-time, lump-sum payment of $281,874,999.00.
Shane told WLFA that he wasn't really surprised by his win. He just had "a feeling" that he might. A Facebook post shortly after the drawing seems to demonstrate Missler knew about his big win that night.
When asked what he planned to do with his new windfall, Shane offered a surprisingly self-aware answer. "I’m only 20, but I hope to use it to pursue a variety of passions, help my family and do some good for humanity.”
Missler purchased his winning ticket at a Port Richey 7-11 with money he had won off a scratch-off ticket.
