As the country prepared for the effects of the coronavirus, one of the most popular items people went out to buy, and hoard, was toilet paper. These days, even the folks who overbought the bathroom staple might be running low and the national supply still hasn't fully recovered, making TP consistently hard to come by. If things get really bad you can always turn to tissues or, in really rough situations, paper towels, but there is another option.
A mom in England shared a toilet paper hack on a Facebook group called Mums Who Budget and Save, and it could keep your TP going for a lot longer. She wrote, "Kids home from school? Going through toilet paper faster than usual? Try squashing the roll - so it doesn't spin so quickly and then not as much will be pulled off."
It's that easy! Just push down on the roll to flatten it a little before putting it on the holder and you'll see it stick around much longer. Commenters were pretty impressed writing things like, "Mind blowing!! I'm definitely trying this," and "I had to do that. My kids would just pull until it snaps," and "It works for me too because I also know I'm likely to use too much."
Hopefully it will help your toilet paper go longer.
