Tropical Storm Elida Strengthening; Not Likely To Cross To Central Pacific

A new storm forming off the coast of Mexico is unlikely to travel to the Central Pacific.

As of Sunday evening, Tropical Storm Elida has 65MPH sustained winds and is moving to the WNW at 15MPH.

Elida is expected by forecasters to strengthen into a Category 1 hurricane on Monday, but also expected by Wednesday to start breaking apart into a post-tropical system.

Elida is not expected to reach the Central Pacific at this time.
